Famous Queens of History by LadyNorrington19 Famous Queens of History by LadyNorrington19
Some of the many women who "outshined the men they were supposed to stand behind."

All Queens Consorts and Regents or Empresses of Europe from the 11th century to the 20th century.

Not all of these women were Rulers in their own right or won major battles, or even greatly in influenced politics; however all of these women made an inpact. Whether they were the scandal of court or applauded for their good nature, or in many cases: a truely tragic figure of History; these amazing Ladies certainly are remembered.

(Feel free to ask who is who =))

Queens of France: Eleanor of Aquitaine, Blanche of Castile, Anne of Bretagne, Catherine de Medici, Margaret of Valois, Marie de Medici, Marie Antoniette, Josephine de Beauharnais.

Queens of England: Eleanor of Aquitaine, Isabella of France, Phillipa of Hainault, Margaret of Anjou, Elizabeth Woodville, Katharine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Kathryn Howard, Catherine Parr, Mary I, Elizabeth I, Henrietta Maria, Mary II, Anne Stuart, Caroline of Brunswick, Victoria Hanover.

Queens of Spain: Urraca of Leon & Castile, Isabel of Castile, Juana of Castile, Mary I, Isabella II.

Queens of Scotland: Margaret Tudor, Marie of Guise, Mary Stuart.

Empresses/Tsarina of Russia: Sophia Alexsyvna, Elisabeth, Catherine II, Alexandra.

And Anna Jagiellon (Poland), Christina (Sweden), Maria Theresa (Austria), Maria I (Portugal).

Very cool but you put Maria I as a Queen of Spain. She was Queen Regnant of Portugal. Spain never even had a regnant Queen Mary

Thank you!
But it's Queen Mary I of England who was briefly Queen Consort of Spain that I am pointing out, sorry for the confusion.

Weren't they first cousins? It's an interesting married. Calais was finally given back to France, and really the only good thing that came out of that married.

Oh, it's just that as you had already pointed out Mary I in the Queens of England, I thought that you had confused her as Queen of Spain.
And you're welcome

Hey, you forgot Queen Margrete I, whom united Denmark, Norway and Sweden into Kalmarunion! Yeah, I konw that it's hard to remeber all queens...
But why Alexandra Feodorovna? The only thing, she did, was her relationship with Rasputin, whom was the fate of the Russian Empire.
